HAMBLEN, Ind. (WISH) - A man saved a 16-year-old boy from drowning in Johnson County's Sweetwater Lake.
John Dotts was was enjoying an afternoon with his wife when he noticed an inflatable raft in the deep area of the lake. Dotts then noticed frantic splashing, our partners at the Daily Journal report.
A boy was swimming after the raft and then disappeared under the surface. he broke surface, screamed for help, and went under water again.
Dotts then swam about 50 yards and dragged the boy to surface.
The boy was conscious but delirious. he was treated at the hospital for a respiratory attack but is going to be OK.
Dotts' actions likely saved the boy's life.
