MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Around 30 people were without a home overnight after a fire destroyed apartments in Martinsville.
The fire started Wednesday night at Spring Lake Apartments, destroying at least four apartment units.
In all, the complex has 12 apartments, the fire officials say the blaze began in the middle of the complex. It’s believed to have started in the laundry room before burning through the wall and spreading to an apartment. Then, it moved into the walls and attic.
No one was injured in the fire, but firefighters had some difficulty because of the small space in the attic.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis was helping residents find places to stay.
