GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers said the city has come a long way since his election in 2011.

Myers said the city has made taken steps in balancing its $24 million operating budget.

He also pointed to several accomplishments that included a new storm water utility, hiring three new police officers and three new firefighters in addition to ordering new police cars fire trucks.

Myers also said a new pool is a priority for Greenwood.

“We owe it to the young people to have an affordable place to learn to swim and enjoy water sports we also need a place for our seniors to enjoy water aerobics,”

The Mayor said he has received approval to use tax increment financing money to pay for the project and will not raise taxes for the project.
