GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - More charges have been filed against the Franklin man accused of knowingly spreading HIV to numerous sexual partners.

Tony Perkins is now charged with 17 felony counts of Failure of an HIV Carrier to Warn Sexual Partners.

The Greenwood Police Department says several women have come forward, saying they had sex with Perkins after the first charges were filed against him February 19.

So far, police say, none of the women have tested positive for HIV/AIDS, making the current charges a class “D” felony. If any of the victims do contract HIV/AIDS, the charges and punishment will be upgraded to a “C” felony, meaning jail time increases from 6 months to three years to a two to eight year sentence.
