NASHVILLE, Ind. (The Republic) - The identity of a woman who died in a house fire Monday morning will be released after relatives are notified.
24-Hour News 8 news partner The Republic reports a Brown County Schools bus driver called police after 6 a.m. while driving on East Washington Street.
Upon arrival, Nashville firefighters said flames were shooting out the front door and windows. Firefighters entered the back of the home and found the woman inside just as the roof began to collapse toward the front door.
Heat and smoke damage was found in the room where the woman was found, said Brown County Coroner Rob Ayers.
No cause of the fire has been determined. The state fire marshal has been notified.
