COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) - An incident that created a boom at a Cummins facility could be heard three-quarters of a mile away Monday afternoon.

Columbus Fire Department officials said the incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at the Cummins Technical Center, 1900 McKinley Ave.

The center is a fill station for natural gas that allows the business to test engines. The pumps are under pressure and Monday afternoon a relief valve failed; it popped off, creating a loud boom noise.

No one was injured.
