GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - One person was killed in a vehicle-dump truck crash on southbound Ind. 37 and Smith Valley Road.

Eric E. Zahnd, 35, of Camby, was pronounced dead after a crash at about 7:47 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a police report, for some unknown reason, Zahnd drifted his vehicle from the southbound lane on Ind. 37 into the opposing lane on Ind. 37 and collided into the back of a dump truck driven by Michael Beach, 41, of Indianapolis. The dump truck was stopped in the turn lane on Ind. 37 at the red light turning onto Smith Valley Road.

Smith was not injured in the crash. Police say alcohol wasn't a factor.

The investigation is on going.
