JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Pendleton man is facing multiple charges after police say he used a landscaping brick to burglarize a Johnson County home over the weekend.
Police responded to the home in the 2600 block of South U.S. 31 just after 2 a.m. on Sunday for the burglary while other officers tried to track down the suspect vehicle.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered that someone had thrown a landscaping block through the home’s basement patio door to get into the home. The residents reported a laptop and a breast pump that was in a black bag were missing.
While deputies collected evidence at the home, others tracked down a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description. It was driving northbound in the southbound lanes, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
After stopping the car, deputies discovered 37-year-old Bobby Gibson, who had trouble following directions and smelled like alcohol, according to police reports. Deputies found glass in Gibson’s car along with the laptop and breast pump.
Gibson was arrested on preliminary charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, burglary and theft.
