Sheriff: Woman's death not a homicide

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman.

Thursday, police were called to the home of Bonnie Lindell on a welfare check. Police arrived to find three men and Lindell inside the residence. The men inside the home told police that Lindell was drunk and had fallen on top of the coffee table.

Officers found Lindell in her bed where she was able to talk to deputies. Police observed that Lindell's eyes were swollen and her elbow was deformed. She also had multiple bruises in her facial area.

Lindell told officers she sustained her injuries earlier in the day when she fell. Lindell refused medical treatment and told police she just wanted to sleep.

The next day, officers were sent back to the home where Lindell was found dead.

Authorities say the preliminary result of an autopsy Saturday reveals the case to not be a homicide investigation. Information shows Lindell died from causes other than a homicide.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is awaiting a final autopsy report to complete the investigation.
