EDINBURGH, Ind. (WISH) - Police are searching for a convicted arsonist who walked away from a minimum security work facility Monday afternoon.
Fran Osburn, superintendent of the Edinburgh Correctional Facility, announced that offender Jacob Affleje walked away from an offender work crew while on the grounds of the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center.
He was assigned to the warehouse/state maintenance facility inside Camp Atterbury.
Indiana Department of Correction officials have also learned that a black 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, Indiana license XE6590, was stolen from the grounds of Camp Atterbury Monday afternoon.
Affleje was serving a 10-year sentence out of Morgan County for arson. He was scheduled to be released on July 7.
He is described as a white male, has short black hair and brown eyes, stands at 5 feet-11-inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.
