CLAYTON, Ind. (WISH) - An RV heading home from the Brickyard 400 caught fire in Hendricks County Sunday evening.

Passengers in the RV said they were traveling down I-70 when they started to smell smoke. The Fire Department of Liberty Township was called to respond.

According to a release from the Fire Department of Liberty Township, crews arrived to the 9400 block of South SR 39 to find the RV fully engulfed in a heavy fire.

Firefighters had the fire under control within 15 minutes and the fire did not spread to a nearby field.

SR 39 near the Monrovia exit was closed in both directions for about an hour while crews worked on the scene.

No one was injured in the fire.
