Sexual predator faces third child molest case

COLUMBUS, Ind. (The Republic) - A Columbus man twice convicted for child molesting is now facing a charge that he did it again, 24-Hour News 8 news partner The Republic reports.

Columbus Police on Tuesday night arrested 49-year-old Maynard E. Jones on a preliminary charge of child molesting, a Class A felony.

Jones is accused of molesting a 6-year-old child within the past year.

He was convicted of child molesting in 1991 and 2001 in two different counties. He’s been out of prison since February 2007 and is registered as a sexually violent predator.
