The Shelby County Fairgrounds will be open and ready to host the fair this year after a devastating fire.
On May 19th, a fire burned down the grandstands, a historical structure at the Shelby County Fairgrounds located at 500 Frank Street in Shelbyville.
The President of the Shelby County Fair Association, David Rush told 24-Hour News 8 that the fair is ready and will continue on as planned.
“The community has come together. We have temporary bleachers set in place, and all activities are on-schedule”, Rush.
The fair runs July 2nd-July 7th.
The fire that destroyed the grandstand at the Shelby County fairgrounds was intentionally set, Shelbyville fire officials said after the investigation was completed.
