JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Indiana smoking law will be extended to Johnson County to include bars and public property starting January 1.
According to the Johnson County Attorney, the county-wide smoking ordinance was passed Monday morning. After the first of the year, the ban will apply to bars in both Johnson County, unincorporated Johnson County, and in any establishment that does not have more restrictive smoking rules.
Smokers will be able to smoke outside bars, at least three feet from the door.
Additionally, all public property, including parks, fairgrounds, and county offices, will be smoke-free.
