"During these high volumes times ... ," a volunteer roared from a bullhorn to a crowd of volunteer searches.

It's night 11 of searching for Lauren Spierer - the petite 20-year-old IU student who vanished after a night out, in the wee hours of Friday, June 3.

"We searched all around this area right here," said first-time searcher Kenny Peyton. "We kind of went beyond our measures and our boundaries."

Volunteers were handed area maps with their specific zone in highlighted in yellow.

"It's tough, but I'm not going to give up. I wake up every morning and hope for the best," said Hadar Tamir, Spierer's roomate.

Tamir knew Spierer arguably better than anyone, and she also knows all the persons of interest - those who saw her last.

"Does it concern you that some of them aren't talking to you?" asked 24-Hour News 8's Brad Edwards.

"Yeah, it concerns me a little but at the same time I don't think they had anything to do with her dissapearance," said Tamir. "I think it was a random person."

"Of course [police] should keep focusing on these guys because it will be a whole lot easier on us if they did do something because they'll be right here, and we can get the information from them, but if it was a random person - which I'm more leaning towards that at this point because it's been over a week - then they need to move the search outwards, outside of Bloomington," she said. "I'm never going to let there not be hope."
