BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police will hold their annual memorial service to recognize members of the department who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The service will be held 10 a.m. Friday outside of the department's Bloomington post. Since the Indiana State Police department was created in 1933, 46 members of the department have died in the line of duty. The most recent death occurred in September 2010, when motor carrier inspector Robert E. Pitcher of Pershing was killed when he lost control of a pickup truck and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.
