MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Morgan County are investigating threats that claim violence will take place Thursday at Martinsville West Middle School.

Officers say threats were made Wednesday through text messages involving several people. Officers will not say if texts were exchanged between students or what the threats involve.

Police say steps have been taken to keep students and staff safe.

This is the same school where Michael Phelps shot classmate Chance Jackson in March of last year.

Jackson survived the shooting and Phelps is now in prison.
