MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The three people who died in a fiery crash late Monday night in Monroe County have been identified.

The Monroe County coroner’s office said the victims were Nathan Guadet, 23, Bedford, Justin Thomas, Georgetown, 24, and Sean McClanahan, 23, Georgetown.

The car the three were riding in left the roadway on a curvy portion of Victor Pike and struck a tree, then caught fire. The cause of death for the three was not yet determined, as toxicology results are pending, the coroner’s office said Wednesday.

The Herald-Times reported Wednesday that Gaudet pleaded guilty as a 16-year-old to a charge of concealment for participating in the 2005 dismemberment of the body of a 16-year-old Moline, Ill., girl who had been strangled and dismembered in Illinois. Two friends were convicted of murder.

Gaudet served nearly four years in juvenile detention and was released in November 2008 when he was 20.
