JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A crash involving two semis closed Interstate 65 north near Seymour, Ind. for several hours early Friday.

State Police say the northbound passing lane is now open but the driving lane remains closed as of 8 a.m. Friday.

Police say it will be several hours until the interstate is completely open.

Motorists are still able to exit at U.S. 50 and then get right back onto the interstate to continue north

Police are still encouraging motorists to avoid the area.

The collision occurred at the U.S. 50 exit around 3:45 a.m. Accident investigators say for some unknown reason a semi rear ended a Fed-Ex double trailer causing the truck to spill its load across the interstate.

State Police described the scene as a “big mess.”

There were no injuries reported.
