Woman, 90, dies after found outside

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana coroner says a 90-year-old woman who died after being found outside a senior living center appears not to have succumbed to hypothermia.

Doris Marie Kent was pronounced dead Wednesday at a Bloomington hospital shortly after she was found outside Redbud Hills Independent Senior Living Community.

Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer says that while the Bloomington woman was found outside in her nightgown in subfreezing temperatures, she had other medical issues and hypothermia does not appear to be Kent's primary cause of death.

Kent's daughter tells The Herald-Times relatives had planned to move Kent on Friday to another living facility in Franklin. Twyla Kent Lamb says her mother had dementia. She says her mother and late father, Leo, were lifetime Bloomington residents and Indiana University fans.
