CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Approximately 40 dozen broken eggs, five pounds of mushrooms, and ten pounds of spilled broccoli were found in the back of a refrigerated box truck Thursday after a state trooper made a routine inspection.

Thursday morning, an Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer stopped a refrigerated food delivery truck on Interstate 70 in Clay County.

During the inspection, the officer found the 40 dozen eggs broken open on the floor of the cargo area with large amounts of liquid yolk spilling out. Lying in the yolk was five pounds of mushrooms and ten pounds of broccoli.

The Clay County Health Department seized the produce.

Meat and other vegetables on the truck were not in violation and were therefore not seized.

The driver was cited for a Class A infraction of transporting food not in compliance with Health Department Rules.

He was released.
