Avon High School principal resigns

AVON, Ind. (WISH) - The Avon High School principal abruptly resigned, the superintendent of Avon Community School Corp. told parents Friday afternoon.
Principal Mike Swank had been on leave for part of the week and resigned effective immediately “for personal reasons,” Superintendent Margaret Hoernemann’s letter said.
It wasn’t clear what prompted Swank’s resignation.
“We are in the process of hiring an interim principal, an experienced administrator who can help us move forward positively to serve our students,” Hoernemann’s letter said.
Classes begin at the high school on Wednesday.
