PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) - A company that employs 1,300 workers in central Indiana will soon have a new owner.

Brightpoint Inc. in Plainfield has announced that it is being acquired by a California-based company called Ingram Micro for $840 million.

Brightpoint opened in 1989 and does logistics for companies that sell wireless devices.

It’s as yet unclear if the deal will have any impact on Brightpoint's facilities and workers in Hendricks County.

The company said the deal should be finalized later this year.
