Tree in roadway caused I-70 Clay Co. fatal

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A stretch of I-70 in Clay County is back open Friday morning.. after being shut down following a crash that left one person dead.

The incident happened near the Brazil exit.

Troopers say around 8:30 Thursday night, three semis crashed into each other in the west bound lanes. Officials say one of the drivers was killed and the other two had minor injuries.

Crews worked overnight to remove debris.

Police are still investigating the crash, but believe a tree fell across the roadway in the path of the semis.
