HENDRICKS COUNTY (WISH) - Three elephants were off-loaded onto Interstate 70 Thursday evening following an accident.

Indiana State Police say a semi-tractor was traveling on I-70 in Hendricks County and was carrying three elephants.

The semi-tractor and trailer slid off the roadway at the crash scene on I-70 at CR 725.

Police say, while the driver waited, the elephants were off-loaded.

They are in the care of their trainer and have not been injured.

At no time were they loose on the interstate.

They have since been re-loaded onto the truck and left the scene.
