AVON, Ind. (WISH) - The Avon Police are investigating a burglary of a child advocacy center.
Susie's Place is where officials conduct forensic interviews with children to investigate abuse allegations. Police were dispatched to the center around 8:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.
A staff member told police she came into work to find her office and several others were broken into.
Our partners at the Hendricks County Flyer report several electronics including laptops and a DVD burner were stolen from the center.
Neighboring business Retirement Housing Foundation also was reportedly burglarized. Police say the thief or thieves made off with computers, digital cameras, memory cards, cash, and even a bottle of wine from there. The total loss to both offices is estimated at $8,500.
The police currently do not have any leads in either burglaries.
