Man arrested for TV station shooting

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for the gunfire damage that occurred at WTWO NBC 2 news station in Sullivan County early Saturday morning.

The news station employees told police they believe around 4:00 a.m. they heard gunfire outside the building, located at 10849 North US 41.

According to the police release, a search at that time did not reveal any damage, but as daylight arrived and employees were beginning and ending their shifts, the gunshot damage was discovered.

About eleven hours later, police say they arrested Kenneth Trey Bolinger, 24, at a home in the 700 block of West Main Street in Farmersburg, Ind.

Police say Bolinger is a former employee of the news station and he has been preliminarily charged with one count of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, a Class C felony and 3 counts of Criminal Mischief, a Class D felony.

A release from Indiana State Police state that Bolinger is believed to have been recently terminated from the news station.

Bolinger shot multiple rounds through the main entrance front door glass, into one company vehicle on the north side of the building and into one privately owned vehicle on the west side of the building.

Police say no injuries were reported from the shootings.

Bolinger is currently in the Sullivan County Jail on $39,000 bond, according to police.
