STILESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - A pedestrian walking across the country to promote a pro-life group was struck and killed by a car early Friday morning, police officials said.
Andrew Moore, 20, was walking eastbound on U.S. 40 wearing a reflective vest when a Fillmore man driving into work struck him around 5 a.m., Hendricks County authorities said.
Moore, of Concord, Calif., was walking with a woman as part of the Crossroads group walking from San Francisco to Washington D.C. The woman wasn’t injured.
The driver of the car, 25-year-old Terry King, was taken to Hendricks Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
