HENDRICKS CO., Ind. (WISH) - A woman is dead and her husband in serious condition after an apparent dispute at their home near Lizton.
Deputies believe the husband shot his wife, then shot himself.
Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed it happened just before 10 p.m. Monday at 8226 North Hendricks County Road 400 West.
Deputies said a husband and wife were drinking in a barn behind their home with a friend when the husband and wife got into an argument.
The wife went into their home, and the husband followed.
Deputies said the friend heard gunshots and found the woman fatally shot on the sidewalk outside her home.
He called 911, and her husband was found shot in the head by emergency crews.
He was flown by medical helicopter from the scene just after 11 p.m. to St. Vincent Hospital.
Deputies said a young child was also in the home at the time. They didn’t believe the child witnessed the events. Both the husband and wife were found outside the home.
The husband was confirmed to be in his mid-30s.
Hendricks County hasn’t had any recent calls involving domestic issues to this home.
