AVON, Ind. (WISH) - The school board president for Avon Community School Corp. was charged on Tuesday after investigators say she stole and moved political signs.
Kimberly Woodward, who is running for re-election in Avon, was charged with conversion, a Class A misdemeanor.
Investigators said Woodward admitted on a Facebook page for her campaign that she took “the signs down and I have put them in Mr. McGuire’s yard.”
McGuire created the signs; he’s not running for election. He did say he found the signs in his driveway, according to court documents.
In a letter written on the Facebook page that appears to be for her campaign, Woodward explained herself, including the statement, “The time has come for me to stand in front of a stone thrower. If it costs me my campaign for school board as a result, then I will trust God.”
