Coroner: 3 people killed in overnight Attica fire

Cause of deadly fire under investigation

ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - The Fountain County coroner has confirmed three people did not make it out of a house that was on fire early Tuesday morning in Attica.

Firefighters were called to the scene just after midnight. The house is located in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Attica. Flames and heavy smoke could be seen at least a block away.

Several departments were called in to help. Those crews included Williamsport, Mellott and West Point. Crews worked for several hours to put out the fire. The cause remains under investigation.

The names of the deceased have not been released at this time.
