DUGGER, Ind. (WISH) - Three people were shot early Sunday morning following a chaotic series of events outside a bar in Dugger, Indiana.
Indiana State Police gave the following account of events in their investigation so far.
Around 3:30 am the Sullivan Sheriffs Department received a 911 call from the Uptown Tavern on East Main Street in Dugger.
An altercation outside the bar in the parking lot led to shots being fired and one man, Patrick D. Ruff, 39, of Jasonville, In, was shot in the head, according to police.
Another victim, LeighAnn Lovelace, 31, of Linton, In. was also shot in the head inside the tavern by the suspect, police stated.
The alleged shooter and another person left the scene and went to a residence a couple of miles from Dugger.
Investigators say there was a third shooting at that location, wounding the suspect in the first two shootings.
All three were air lifted to IU Methodist Hospital here in Indianapolis.
The investigation is currently ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available, according to police.
Currently, the names of the suspected shooter and the passing motorist are not being released. Those involved are said to be acquaintances, except for the passing motorist, police stated. No information related to the suspected shotgun will be released.
