LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) - A plea agreement could spare the man accused in the Whitestown triple homicide case from the death penalty.
Boone County Prosecutor Todd Meyer filed the proposed agreement between his office and Barney Chamorro Tuesday.
According to the agreement, Chamorro agreed to plead guilty to three counts of murder in exchange for the state to drop its quest for the death penalty.
A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday where attorneys are expected to argue for the agreement before the judge.
Chamorro is accused of brutally stabling his twin brother Alex Chamorro Jr., his father Alejandro, and his father’s wife Judy Schindler.
Barney Chamorro was arrested March 1, 2011 in Ward, Texas.
