Watergate reporter to discuss journalism's future

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (AP) - One of the reporters who broke the Watergate story that drove Richard Nixon out of the White House is coming to Indiana to discuss the state of journalism in the 21st century.
Carl Bernstein will speak Feb. 13 at DePauw University in Greencastle on "The State of Our Information: Is Journalism Dead?"
Since breaking the Watergate story with fellow Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward in 1973, Bernstein has written several books and articles unveiling the inner workings of government.
Bernstein will discuss how despite the deluge of information now available via the Internet and other media, newspapers and traditional journalism are struggling to survive.
The free speech is part of the Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture series. Past speakers include Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher and Elie Wiesel.
