NORTH SALEM, Ind. (WISH) - A 42-year-old woman was killed in a Hendricks County fire Saturday evening.

Fire officials say the incident occurred in North Salem, Ind. around 9 p.m. Saturday. Crews arrived on scene and found the woman inside the residence.

She  was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Emily Fischer was working at a local pizzeria when she noticed what was going on across the street.

"We kinda came out here and saw the porch and the whole front of the house was on fire," Fischer said.

"During the primary search, crews entered the home, continued their search. They came across the victim in one of the bedrooms. That victim was transported to Hendricks Regional where she was later pronounced deceased," Matthew Petro said, who is the Public Information Officer for the Fire Department of Liberty Township.

The victim is 42-year-old Ginger Stultz, who leaves behind three children. It took about 30 minutes for fire crews to get the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
