CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - A crash on U.S. 231 north of Crawfordsville claimed one driver’s life and left another injured, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

At about 10:15 a.m. Thursday, on U.S. 231 near Montgomery County Road 580 North, a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Shawn Swift, 25, crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a semi tractor-trailer driven by Jason Foote, 34, and then colliding with a Toyota Corolla driven by Angela Ancelet, 28.

Crawfordsville Fire Department had to free Ancelet from her car, and she was later pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

Swift was also taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital, then was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Foote was uninjured in the crash.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
