POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. (AP) - The military says a North Carolina-based airman has been killed
in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday that Senior Airman
Ashton L. M. Goodman of Indianapolis died Tuesday near Bagram Air
Field from wounds she sustained from an improvised explosive
device. The 21-year-old was assigned to the 43rd Logistics
Readiness Squadron at Pope Air Force Base.
Goodman is the fourth airman based at Pope Air Force Base
that has been killed in action since Sept. 11, 2001.
