It's been more than a week since anyone has seen or heard from them.
"They usually always sit in the back of the church with their adopted son, and I haven't seen them, they weren't here Wednesday either”, one church member said.
The Guy family, including son Joseph, have been members of the church since moving to Shelbyville 5 years ago.
"After about the second year they were here, he started being friends with me there, we just talked around there with him a lot, and I got to know him quite well”, another member added.
24-Hour News 8 found several police reports on Joseph Guy dating back to the early part of the year. Accusations included the stalking of a male security guard at
According the vivid reports, Joseph Guy was accused of sexual harassment towards a male security guard. In January, the security guard filed an order of protection against Joseph, and then in February, Joseph was arrested for violating the order of protection by following him in a car.
When police arrested Joseph, they said they also found a pair of binoculars, a gun and a bag of plastic zip ties.
"I thought I knew him but then things changed”, one church member stated.
In March, Joseph’s father, Robert Guy had to surrender an array of weapons ranging from shotguns to rifles, knives and ammunition to police. Due to the protective order against Joseph, the weapons could not be in his presence.
