More storms leave behind water damage

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The latest wave of severe weather left more water damage in the state.

And the National Weather Service is looking into the report of a possible tornado in the Goshen area. A barn was reported destroyed and a grain silo damaged.

Officials reported buildings damaged by wind and falling trees from Hammond to Fort Wayne.

Utilities said Thursday morning that some 40,000 homes and businesses were without power, with large outages in the South Bend, Goshen and LaPorte areas.

 

Outages, incidents

  • In Bluffton: Trained weather spotter reports power out to most of Wells County and a tree down at the intersection of county roads 400 North and 100 East .
  • In Fort Wayne: A semi is reportedly overturned on northbound I-469 near mile marker 19. A funnel cloud was also reportedly spotted on Washington Center near Flaugh Road.
  • Widespread outages and several trees are reported down in Grant County near Sweetser. Winds measured at over 40 mph blew in Marion.
  • Tree reported down on State Road 19 south of the Miami County town of Peru.
