INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indiana House committee plans to take up legislation this week that could be amended to include provisions to help casinos.
The bill as introduced by House Democrats is a plan by
Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels to help the cash-strapped agency that

Center in Indianapolis.

amendment to the bill in committee that would relocate one of two
riverboat casinos on Lake Michigan in Gary to a site in that city
near Interstate 65. The committee could consider other measures to
help boost casino revenues.
Republican leaders say gambling should not be a part of the
special session that started last week.
