FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman and Democratic challenger Kevin Boyd have agreed to a debate in northeastern Indiana's 3rd District.
The Journal Gazette reports the debate will be held Oct. 19 at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. The debate is being sponsored by IPFW and its Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics and Public Broadcasting Station WFWA, which will televise the debate live.
The debated will be moderated by former Northeast Indiana Public Radio news director Jeanette Dillon.
Stutzman is completing his first term after winning the seat Republican Rep. Mark Souder resigned from in 2010 after admitting to an extramarital affair. Stutzman was unopposed in the May primary. Boyd is pastor of Fort Wayne's Trinity Presbyterian Church.
