INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Thursday morning on Daybreak, 24-Hour News 8 talked with Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard about the stalled Capital Improvement Board bailout.

He said he never expected the matter to pass as a stand-alone bill, so he's not troubled that the matter did not even make it out of committee.

He also said there is nothing more the city can do.

"Everybody knows the numbers. Everybody knows what has to be done. Everybody knows what's at stake, and now it's on them. State legislature has to take the appropriate action for 66,000 hospitality industry jobs. It's a huge economic engine for the state. The state is the big winner here. We've done what we have to do, now they have to do what's necessary to save this economic engine," said Mayor Ballard.

Ballard said he's still very confident a CIB bailout will still pass as part of the overall budget.
