INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Starting Monday, hours for early voting have been extended in Marion County. The clerk's office says voters can cast their ballots any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

As of Sunday, nearly 9,000 people had voted early.

Monday morning the Marion County clerk and workers got busy testing all of the voting equipment that will be used on Election Day, Nov. 6. It takes about three hours to check more than 62 styles of ballots for the election.

State law requires the testing.

Early voting in Marion County runs through noon on Nov. 5, the day before the election.
