INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - First lady Michelle Obama told the crowd at an Indianapolis campaign fundraiser that her husband expects November's election to be closer than the one that put him in the White House four years ago.
Several hundred people greeted Obama with loud applause when she arrived at the event Thursday evening on a concourse of Lucas Oil Stadium.
The first lady promoted President Barack Obama's work on the auto industry bailout and the health care overhaul while saying the election could come down to a few thousand votes.
The Indianapolis Star reports the Obama campaign declined to release how much money was raised. Tickets started at $100.
Republican candidate Mitt Romney is scheduled to visit Indianapolis on Wednesday to speak at the American Legion's national convention.
