INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana's House chief budget writer will show how Republicans plan to spend an additional $1 billion on schools, roads and other priorities.

Republican House Ways and Means Chairman Tim Brown is scheduled to outline the House GOP's roughly $30 billion budget Friday. A copy of the balance sheet obtained by The Associated Press shows that plan topping Gov. Mike Pence's budget by more than $1 billion.

Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma says most of the new money would go toward restoring education cuts made during the recession and paying for road construction and repairs.

The budget also speeds the phase-out of the state inheritance tax. But it doesn't include funding for Pence's top priority: a $500 million cut in the personal income taxes.
