Pence, political leaders gather to pray

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence gathered with political, business and civic leaders for the Indiana Leadership Prayer Breakfast at the Indiana Roof Ballroom Tuesday morning.

The breakfast is meant for people to pray for elected leaders and the people they serve.

"In my nearly 30 years of walking in my faith, I have often considered this question: why prayer? Why is it so important? It is clearly, clearly a directive,” Pence said. “We are to devote ourselves to prayer. We are to persevere in prayer. We are to approach the throne of grace with confidence."

Pence also said that prayer comforts those who serve and strengthens the hands of laborers and reminded to people to pray not only for Hoosiers but everyone around the nation.
