INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - People planning to attend events surrounding the inauguration of Gov.-elect Mike Pence are being urged to register.

Pence's office says people who want to attend the inaugural ball must register online by Friday at www.indianaworks.eventbrite.com .

The cost of attending the ball is $75 per person. The event will be held Jan. 12 at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

Earlier that day, a family fun day will be held at the Dallara IndyCar factory in Speedway. That event is free, but registration is required.

Registration also is required for a free, public worship service on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Pence will be sworn into office on Jan. 14 at the Statehouse.
