INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana School Superintendent Glenda Ritz is making her case before the state Senate's budget writers.
The Democratic schools chief planned to testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday morning.
Gov. Mike Pence's budget included a marginal increase in school funding over the next two years while making room for a cut in the personal income tax cut. But House Republicans rewrote the budget to spend more on roads and schools.
The state's $30 billion budget is now being vetted by the Senate.
