INDIANAPOLIS (IWISH/AP) - Republican Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman is considering a run for the Indiana governor's office in 2012.
24-Hour News 8's political reporter Jim Shella wrote in his blog Skillman's spokesman Jay Kenworthy said although she is talking to people, she hasn't fully committed to a campaign.
Kenworthy said Thursday the lieutenant governor has much to do this year, including supporting Republican legislative candidates as the GOP tries to win back a majority in the Indiana House.
Skillman was a state senator from Bedford before being elected on the ticket with Mitch Daniels when he won his terms as governor in 2004 and 2008. Daniels can't seek re-election again because of term limits.
Congressman Baron Hill and Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel are among the Democrats considering the governor's race.
