URBANA, Ill. (WISH) - Right now, the stalemate continues.
For the second week, Indiana House Democrats are absent from the Statehouse.
Democrats fled last Tuesday, stalling the session. The members are still camping out at an Urbana, Ill. hotel.
Governor Mitch Daniels spoke out about the stalemate on Fox News Sunday.
"They ran off to Illinois ostensibly over the right-to-work bill. But as soon as they got what they wanted there, they issued an ultimatum from a hot tub over there with about 10 more items. This is to tell you how reactionary Indiana Democrats are. The first four items they want killed are President Obama's race to the top agenda," Daniels said on the show.
There’s word that Republicans extended the time period for the bills the Democrats have issues with, pushing the arguing even further.
Lawmakers on both sides say little headway has been made.
Republicans hold 60 seats in the 100-member Indiana house, and 67 members must show up to work at the Statehouse in order to conduct business.
The Indiana Democrats walkout is part of a multi-state attempt to stall bills state Republican lawmakers are trying to push through.
